Description

PURPOSE AND ACCOUNTABILITY


The Marketing Sales Assistant promotes iA Financial Group’s life insurance and investment products through Managing General Agents (MGA). The Marketing Sales Assistant aims to increase sales of products by training agents, supporting sales activities and liaising with Vancouver administrative departments.


KEY ACTIVITIES


1. Contribute to increased sales revenue for Individual Life and Investment products:
• by acting as a resource for the marketing and sales support help desk, day to day marketing activities, and by providing support and service to MGAs/Agents/Brokers
• providing life insurance and annuity quotes
• creating simple marketing bulletins for the field and internally, to inform them of any product changes/enhancements – composing, editing, coordinating, printing and distributing
• controlling inventory of marketing pieces to effectively reduce reprints and avoid waste
• coordinating and attending sales seminars as required

2. Contribute to overall efficiency of PFS operations:
• by acting as a product information resource for calls forwarded from other departments – agent inquiries about iA products and their suitability
• delivering quality customer service by trouble shooting problematic cases in conjunction with other PFS teams (Policy Issue/Underwriting/Agency Services)
• sorting and prioritizing correspondence for MSS Dept., Manager of MSS and Director of Sales – redirecting incoming mail, e-mail and telephone call as appropriate
• acting as a resource for other departments in the Company by providing information on our MGAs/Agents

3. Create Agent loyalty by:
• recognizing the agent as one of our contracted producers when he/she contacts Head Office
• prioritizing problem-solving for MGAs on cases that require special attention and prioritizing other tasks as required
• assisting MGAs with their special events – open house, golf tournaments, Christmas parties, etc.
• receiving and recording MGA’s feedback regarding product/software concerns to help improve for future releases
• responding to inquiries via telephone, email, written correspondence, or in person, in a timely and professional manner

4. Promote the Company, our life and investment products and our services to the distribution network of independent financial advisors by:
• sending supplies of product information or other marketing materials
• educating MGAs on our software, our products, (and how they work) as well as providing advice on forms completion (how to fill out applications, change forms, etc.)
• learning investment information from systems (Sira or other sources), other departments and researching policy contracts or promotional material (product kits) in order to effectively answer inquiries



Qualifications


Education:
• high school diploma and college marketing diploma
• bachelor's degree in business/finance or a related subject - would be an asset

Designations:
• LOMA designations (ACS, AIAA) or Life License (LLQP) - would be an asset

Experience:
• 2 years working in the insurance industry

Skills:
• project management skills
• strong ability to prioritize work and manage constant change in order to meet tight deadlines
• ability to work independently as well as in a group setting
• public speaking skills
• excellent customer service skills
• intermediate computer knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• mathematical aptitude
• working knowledge of Canadian illustration software
• event planning skills an asset
