Key Accountability

The Event Coordinator will be presenting Canada Talents in reaching out to external parties to coordinate guest speakers and presenters. Working with the Events team, the Event Coordinator will assist with logistical aspect of hosting events including planning, registration, setup, and tear down of events.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research and contact potential speakers on behalf of Canada Talents
  • Assist in the organization of the event: looking for venues, caterers and other suppliers if needed
  • Proofread all communication supports about the event (website, event platforms, visual supports)
  • Assist to maintain the website updated
  • Write content for the website when needed
  • Attend and assist with the logistic of each event: set up and take down
  • Deliver the best guest experience possible during the event,
  • Create a wider online event offer,

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Entrepreneurial minded individual who is a resourceful self starter
  • Creative writer who enjoys producing engaging content and pays attention to details
  • Interest or experience on topic in career development, job search, and cultural integration
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including high level command of English grammar and spelling,
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills,
  • Ability to work independently and with a team,
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in the use of Google Suite, Abobe Suite,
  • Previous experience in grant writing would be an asset,
  • French would be an asset.

Hours:

This is a 8 weeks temporary position, working 35 hours/week. Working days are negotiable and you will have the opportunity to work from home.

Salary: up to $18.00 /hour


Job Type: 8 weeks temporary employment starting before January 1st, 2020,
