As an Actuarial Advisor, you will:
- Participate in actuarial-related strategic decisions for the Special Markets Solutions division
- Monitor changes in the Canadian actuarial landscape, and coordinate implementation of changes in cooperation with iAQ Corporate Actuarial
- Review and provide insight on the financial results of the division
- Perform or review other corporate actuarial tasks, such as Capital calculations, DCAT projections and Appointed Actuary's reporting
- Participate in the development and modification of insurance product features and pricing models
- Participate in the IFRS 17 implementation projects
- Evaluate new sales opportunities and provide support for proposals and agreements
- Establish and maintain relationships with reinsurance partners and Third Party Administrators
- Negotiate and review reinsurance treaties and TPA agreements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in either Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Business or Economics
- ASA designation from the Society of Actuaries,
- Some further progress towards the FSA/FCIA designations, with the intention to complete this designation
- Six or more years of relevant work experience
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Can see the big picture, question solutions and make appropriate recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to target specific audiences when presenting
- Bilingual (English/French) would be considered an asset
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Highly organized, able to take initiative and work independently
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments under pressure
- Strong proficiency in MS-Office applications, including Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
- Visual Basic programming skills would be considered an asset
